Country Cousin is the corner where you can find my not-so-traditional sock dolls - happy pocket companions for little people- washable and dryable; the increasingly popular weaving kits - enough to make two small mats or wall hangings, the weaving kit offers a dozen "eggs" of specialty yarn, a set of easy instructions, a weaving needle, and a weaving board already warped with yarn to get you started.
Also you'll find hand spun wool yarn - great colors and naturals - every inch made by me during the evenings at home. Wool from different varieties of sheep, some natural colors, some dyed marvelous combinations of colors...it's all part of the ongoing exploration.

Introducing the newest batch! Happy Sock Dolls are created to be little companions for little people. They are machine washable and dryable and hold up to normal wear and tear of being stuffed in pockets by sticky fingers. Cotton or cotton blend socks, new ribbon, polyfill stuffing - all handsewn, faces painted for smiles.
Generally six to nine inches tall. No two alike - please let me choose one for you.

Twig Dolls
Twig Dolls are made for grownup "girls" and doll collectors. They are muslin with 100% cotton dresses, vintage buttons and felt hearts with arms and legs from red osier twigs harvested on the farm. Faces are painted one at a time by hand and no two are alike.

Patchwork Pincushion
Delicious combinations of 100% cotton prints - stuffed full of real dried lavender flowers for long-lasting fragrance. I love this clever pattern that makes lovely cubes from flat pieces of cotton tied with cord. I have accented the pincushions with marvelous vintage buttons. Again, no two alike.
